Louna wins silver medal at Worlds!

Well done, Louna! Competing at this week’s FIE Junior World Championships in Rio de Janeiro (BRA), the 19-year old came in second after a fantastic performance!

Competing against a top-tier international field of 169 fencers, Louna impressed with an outstanding performance throughout the tournament. Among others, she defeated defending champion Julia Yin (CAN) on her way to the final, showcasing an aggressive and dominant style of fencing. In total, Louna prevailed in eleven of her twelve bouts over the course of the tournament.

In the final bout, Louna faced Latvian fencer and reigning European champion Sofija Prosina, who went on to secure the world championship title on that day. Despite a determined effort, Louna ultimately fell short by a score of 7-15, earning a silver medal in the process —the greatest achievement by a Swiss junior fencer in over 20 years!
